Bosnian coach Faruk Hadzibegic says Inter Milan are very lucky to have a striker of Edin Dzeko’s caliber among their ranks.

While veteran players tend to announce their international retirement after reaching an advanced stage in their playing career, the 37-year-old remains active with his national team, much to the delight of his manager.

Therefore, Hadzibegic only had words of praise when discussing the Nerazzurri bomber, stating that the club can still rely on his services, as he can remain a valuable asset for years to come.

“I think Inter are very lucky to have such a great professional and an even greater man in their ranks,” said the manager of the Bosnian national team in an interview with SportItalia via FcInterNews.

“I think he is a player who can be useful for Inter and European football. He can be valuable for several more seasons.”

Following successful spells at Wolfsburg, Manchester City and Roma, Dzeko joined Inter in 2021 as a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku who signed for Chelsea that summer.

Even when the Belgian made his comeback to Appiano Gentile last summer, the experienced bomber was able to maintain a starting spot alongside Lautaro Martinez.

However, the Bosnian’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen if the club will offer him an extension that keeps him at the Giuseppe Meazza beyond the current campaign.
