Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta complimented Napoli on winning their third scudetto in their club’s history.

The Nerazzurri CEO spoke to Italian news agency ANSA following Napoli’s 1-1 draw against Udinese at the Dacia Arena which clinched the Partenopei’s third scudetto in their history, as reported by FCInterNews.it.

“Compliments to Napoli, their manager and their squad for their historical achievement. They deserved to win this scudetto”, said Marotta.

Napoli won the Scudetto twice before, in 1986-87 and 1989-90, both due to the legendary prowess of Argentina’s Diego Armando Maradona. During this edition, the Partenopei were led by their Nigerian talisman Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli striker broke the goalscoring record by an African player with 22 goals in Serie A this season. The record was previously held by Samuel Eto’o, who scored 21 goals with Inter in the 2010-11 season.

The Azzurri are also managed by former Inter coach Luciano Spalletti, who was at the club from 2017-2019 and led the Nerazzurri to UEFA Champions League qualification. The Tuscan manager became the oldest manager who ever win a Serie A title.
