Inter Milan defender Matteo Darmian is confident his team is ready for the UEFA Champions League Semi Final derby against AC Milan adding there’s more to them than just Rafael Leao.

Nerazzrri’s Italian defender Matteo Darmian believes that Inter are doing well during a difficult part of the season and that local rivals AC Milan are more than just Rafael Leao.

The former Milan youth product spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN following Inter’s 2-0 win against the Giallorossi, as reported by FCInterNews.

“We are doing well and we are all available to play expect for Danilo D’Ambrosio and Robin Gosens. We are going through a good period and we have to continue as such.

“We know that we have a difficult to final push to end the season, but we are ready to face those matches.

“We are ready for the derby, but we know that Milan is not only Rafael Leao. It will need an attentive defensive performance to close down Leao and his teammates.

“I thank Milan very much because they helped me grow as a player. I am an Inter player now and I will give my best for this jersey.

“Lately, I have been playing as a wingback, but I know I have the confidence of the staff here and this pushes to give my best. I will always try to improve every week,” concluded Darmian.

The former Manchester United and Torino defender has been an important part to Inter’s season so far, as the player has made twenty-eight appearances, contributing one goal and two assists with three yellow cards.

Darmian’s performances during Inter’s recent return to form has made an irreplaceable player for manager Simone Inzaghi.

The Italian defender will almost certainly start against local rivals AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League Semi Final first leg this Wednesday at the Stadio San Siro, with kick-off scheduled at 2100 CET.
