Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi believes every single one of his players deserve a hug for what they’ve done recently, after a 2-0 Serie A win against Jose Mourinho’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi appreciated his players’ performance against the Giallorossi and how they turned things around since the beginning of April.
Inzaghi spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN immediately following the 2-0 win, as reported by FCInterNews.
“We expected a very difficult game against a team that concedes very few goals at home. Every single one of these players deserve a hug for what they’ve done since April 1st.
“We are Inter and we are putting in a tremendous effort to go as far as possible in every competition.
“We have been able to rotate since the game against Monza. It is only in defence where we have small problems and we hope to get D’Ambrosio and Gosens back.
“Brozovic was out from October to January and same with Lukaku. We know how important they are and I hope they continue like this. I have great faith in them.
“It is obvious that the derby will be played over 180 minutes. We have played matches like these and we have to understand that there will be many moments that we have to suffer together.
“It will be an open derby and the toss-ups for the starting lineup could change within 72 hours of the game,” concluded the Inter manager.
Inter Milan Hitting Form At The Right Time
Since losing 1-0 to Fiorentina and Monza at home in the Serie A, Inter has not lost in their last six games across all competitions.
This includes wins against Juventus in the second leg of the Coppa Italia Semi Final as well as a 3-1 win in the Serie A over Lazio, who are also battling for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
Simone Inzaghi now faces a selection headache, because Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has now a goal contribution in each one of his last three appearances for Inter in the Serie A.
Inter faces local rivals Milan on Wednesday in UEFA Champions League Semi Final at the Stadio San Siro at 2100 CET.
