Inter Milan can breathe a sigh of relief after defender Alessandro Bastoni avoided injury in the 2-0 win over Roma in Serie A yesterday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FCInterNews.

According to the report, Bastoni felt some discomfort as he left the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico but medical tests have ruled out injury and there is no risk of him missing Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Inter expect to have Danilo D’Ambrosio back for the match against the Rossoneri after he stepped up his training following a muscular injury, but the defender is unlikely to start the game.

However, the first leg is thought to have come too soon for wingback Robin Gosens, with the Germany international not yet ready to return to action after suffering a shoulder injury. The Nerazzurri hope to have the former Atalanta man back in time for the return leg on Tuesday 16 May.
