Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco was considered the best player on the pitch during yesterday’s crucial 2-0 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FcInterNews.

As per the newspaper’s player ratings, Dimarco stood out as Inter’s most productive player after breaking the deadlock in the first half with a well-taken goal from a tight angle, whilst he was praised for his movement and his intelligence on the right flank.

Indeed, Roma wingback Nicola Zalewski could not contain Dimarco and had a torrid time against the Inter man, whilst his impact in the first half was likened to opening a tightly-sealed bottle of champagne in opening the match up in the Nerazzurri’s favour.

Dimarco netted his sixth goal of the season at the Stadio Olimpico, moving Simone Inzaghi’s side five points clear of their opponents and strengthening their grip on a top four finish and Champions League qualification.
