Inter striker Romelu Lukaku praised the team for their 2-0 win over Roma in Serie A yesterday, as they consolidated their grip on a top four Serie A place at the Stadio Olimpico.

In an interview with the club’s in-house television channel, Inter TV, after the final whistle in Rome, and as reported by FCInterNews Lukaku insisted that the victory was a team effort but the Nerazzurri had to maintain their level of focus over the remainder of the season.

The Chelsea owned striker scored in the second half to wrap up the win, after Federico Dimarco had opened the scoring in the first half against Jose Mourinho’s side.

“It was a good win on our part, I’m really happy for the team. We are in very good condition, we have to continue like this, with this hunger,” Lukaku declared.

Solid Defence & Lethal Attack

Meanwhile, the Belgium international felt Inter have shown greater levels of ruthlessness in front of goal recently after being accused of profligacy earlier in the season.

This as well as whilst showing defensive solidity to keep the Giallorossi at bay in the Italian capital in the Serie A win.

“We played a game with great maturity, we took advantage of the chances we had. It shows our quality, now we have to continue like this,” Lukaku went on.

“I think we have improved in this aspect, of sacrificing, we score a lot of goals and we don’t concede many. So many players can make a difference and that is important,” he concluded.

Inter now turn their attention to a Champions League semi-final clash against AC Milan on Wednesday.
