Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen is supporting former club Inter Milan against city rivals AC Milan in the Champions League semifinal clash.

The Danish international was given the Laureus World Comeback of the Year Award after returning to play following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 in June 2021.

When receiving this award, the Danish international midfielder also commented on the chances of his former team against AC Milan, as reported by Milan-based daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews.

“I had great moments and great memories with Inter I hope that my ex-teammates reach the Final even though my friend Kjaer plays for Milan,” said Eriksen.

The former Manchester United player discussed his departure from the Nerazzurri after rules in Italy prevented him from taking the field with pacemaker.

“I am not angry with Inter for how things went. It was the only option because in Italy, there are different rules compared to England and I wanted to continue playing in any way possible,” concluded the Manchester United player.

The Danish player started his professional career with Ajax in 2010, where he played three seasons with the Dutch club and made one hundred and thirteen appearances and scored twenty-five goals.

Eriksen moved on to Tottenham Hotspurs where he stayed for seven years and accumulated two hundred and twenty-six appearances and scored fifty-one goals.

He then joined the Nerazzurri in 2020 on a free transfer where he made forty-three appearances and scored four goals for club.
