Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana feels that the timing of the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Milan will play in his team’s favor.

The 26-year-old insists that he and his Nerazzurri teammates are in great form at the moment, which should give them the advantage against their crosstown rivals on Wednesday night.

The Cameroonian spoke to Inter TV ahead of tonight’s kickoff, and he surely seems to be a confident mood.

“Personally, I’m in great shape at the moment, while the team is even better,” said Onana in his pre-interview as reported by FcInterNews.

“We trained hard and well. It’s an honor to train with this group. We come to this match in a great moment, so I feel very confident.”

The former Ajax man admits that this type of glamorous clashes gives him some additional motivation, but he insists that winning is what matters the most.

“Yes, they are very important matches and you get an extra motivation. But as I always say, history remembers the team that wins.

“We know the importance of qualifying. We are very happy to be a part of this match and we’ve been waiting for it for a long time.”

Finally, the goalkeeper stated that his main concern is his own team’s display rather than Milan’s.

“The truth is that I’m not worried about Milan but about Inter. I expect a great match, we trained very well, we are ready and raring to go.”
