Inter Milan’s Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni is happy with the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win in the UEFA Champions League Semi Final first leg, but he is expecting a battle in the second leg.

Alessandro Bastoni spoke to Inter TV following Inter Milan‘s 2-0 win against local rivals A.C. Milan in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Semi Final, as reported by FCInterNews.

“We are happy because we knew of the importance of the game, but it is important to maintain a balanced approach because there will be a battle in six days time,” Alessandro Bastoni stated.

The Inter Milan Italy international is confident in how the Nerazzurri prepared for the first leg win against the Rossoneri.

The former Atalanta denfeder underlined how important it was for the Nerazzurri to start the game off well.

Especially given the importance of the occasion being the semifinal of the Champions League against AC Milan.

“We prepared for this game because we knew how they would play.

“Beyond that, it was important to play with determination because it was a derby in the Champions League semifinal.

“This is not a game you play every year. Which is why we wanted to start off well,” continued the Italian defender.

Alessandro Bastoni – ‘Attack But Keep Defensive Solidity’

Bastoni explained how Inter were defensively solid and that they were able to create chances while remaining calm and confident.

“We wanted to attack with as many players as possible without losing of defensive balance. It was our plan and we played a great game,” concluded Bastoni.

The Italian defender has been ever-present for the Nerazzurri, as he has made twenty-five appearances in Serie A while providing two assists and collecting three yellow cards.

He has also made nine appearance in the UEFA Champions League where he has contributed three assists.
