Legendary former Inter striker Diego Milito feels the Nerazzurri were close to perfect in their 2-0 win over AC Milan.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, via FCInter1908, the Argentine praised his former side’s performance in the Champions League semifinal first leg win.

Inter have put one foot in the final of the Champions League.

After dispatching Porto and Benfica in the previous rounds of the competition, the Nerazzurri got a massive win in the Milan derby.

Facing city rivals the Rossoneri is never an easy ask for Inter.

The form book is often ripped up when the two sides meet.

Moreover, the motivation could hardly have been higher yesterday evening.

With a place in European club football’s biggest match up for grabs, Inter gave themselves a sizable advantage heading into the second leg.

The job is far from over, but the result and performance were certainly a statement.

For the third match in a row, Inter were able to negate their city rivals’ strengths.

The first half in particular looked quite one-sided.

Considering the dynamic of the match, it was about as strong of a performance as could have been expected.

For his part, Milito felt that there was little that the Nerazzurri could have done much better on the evening.

Treble Winner Diego Milito Feels Inter Milan Were Virtually Flawless In Champions League

Former striker Milito suggested that “Inter showed Milan that they’re the stronger team and also have a deeper squad, which was shown with the substitutions.”

“Inter played an almost perfect match,” the Argentine argued. “Inter were much the much better side and only allowed two shots on target.”

Milito also gave his thoughts on former Roma and Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

“Mkhitaryan is a player with a great engine, and he scored the goal that can give Inter peace of mind in the tie.”
