Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez feels the key to ending the season right for the Nerazzurri is staying united.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old Argentine star stressed unity and hard work to achieve Inter’s goals.
Inter got a massive win yesterday evening by beating AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals.
It was yet another boost for the Nerazzurri after winning four straight league wins and reaching the Coppa Italia final.
However, absolutely nothing is secured yet.
There will be a hugely challenging run-in in Serie A to try and secure a top four spot amid fierce competition.
Then, in less than a week there will be another Milan derby with a place in the Champions League final up for grabs.
The Nerazzurri have the advantage from yesterday’s win, but there’s still a massive ninety minutes ahead.
Later this month, Inter will face Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia final.
In that match, the Nerazzurri will be hoping to retain their crown in the competition from last season.
With everything at stake and nothing done yet, Inter will have to dig deep over the next few weeks.
Lautaro Martinez On What Inter Milan Must Do To End The Season
“We have to keep going the way that we have been,” Inter striker Martinez said of the run-in.
“Over the past few weeks we’ve managed to get some big results in the league, and so we have to keep working the way we’ve been doing and stay united because this is it,” he continued.
“If we can do that, then it’ll be easier to get where we want to go,” the striker said.
Martinez was the player who wore the captain’s armband in yesterday evening’s win over city rivals AC Milan in the derby.
