Coach Simone Inzaghi feels that Inter Milan would’ve deserved an even more emphatic win in their 2-0 triumph over AC Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset after the Champions League clash, via FCInterNews, the 47-year-old also emphasized the Rossoneri’s quality.

When Inter raced to a 2-0 lead against Milan, it did look as though they could have grabbed a couple more before Milan found their feet.

Whilst the Nerazzurri were playing with the wind in their sails, the Rossoneri looked on the ropes.

In the end, none of the chances that Inter created throughout the remainder of a frenetic first half resulted in a goal.

Then, in the second half things looked much more even as Milan played with more aggression and Inter took a more cautious approach.

Both teams did have a few chances, but the scoreline was the same at the final whistle as it was barely ten minutes in.

A 2-0 final scoreline certainly gives the Nerazzurri an advantage heading into the second leg of the tie, though hardly an unassailable one.

Now Inter will have to see it out if they’re to reach the Champions League final.

Simone Inzaghi Feels Inter Milan’s Performance Was Worth More Than Two Goals

“We scored two goals, and we would have deserved a few more,” Inter coach Inzaghi said after the match, “but we got the lead and then we managed the game well in the second half.”

“We can’t forget we were up against a top-quality side who improved in the second half,” he emphasized.

“We’re satisfied with the match, but my players are mature and know there’s a long way to go to get to Istanbul.”

“We’re not going anywhere yet, but we know we’re ninety-five minutes away from something special,” the coach concluded.

“Now we just have to ride it out.”
