Inter Milan have rebuffed interest from Man United and Tottenham Hotspur in signing striker Lautaro Martinez.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the two Premier League giants asked about the Argentine’s availability.

However, the Nerazzurri made clear that Martinez is not for sale. According to the Gazzetta, both United and Spurs have identified Martinez as a major transfer target this summer.

Gearing up to go after the 25-year-old, both English teams have made initial inquiries to Inter.

However, the Gazzetta reports, the Nerazzurri have made their stance clear. Martinez is not a player who the Nerazzurri have any interest in selling this summer.

Man United & Tottenham Lautaro Interest Linked To Harry Kane

According to the Gazzetta, United and Spurs’ pursuit of Martinez is linked with the future of current Spurs striker Harry Kane.

The 29-year-old England international is United’s top target in attack. If the Red Devils were to sign Kane, then Spurs would need to bring in a replacement.

Inter striker Martinez would be one of the London-based team’s top targets to replace Kane. On the other hand, should United miss out on Kane, they will look to sign a different striker.

According to the Gazzetta, Martinez is the Red Devils’ secondary target after the Englishman.

Inter Milan Brakes On Lautaro Martinez-Premier League Talk

In any event, both United and Spurs look set to miss out on Martinez. The Gazzetta report that an intermediary approached Inter to inform them of both English clubs’ interest in Martinez.

The Nerazzurri’s response was to decisively state that the Argentine World Cup winner is not for sale. There has not been any talk of potential transfer fees, as Inter’s stance has been that there is no room for discussion.

The Nerazzurri have made abundantly clear to both United and Spurs that they have no intention of selling Martinez this summer at any price.
