Samir Handanovic will be part of a heavily-rotated Inter starting eleven to face Sassuolo tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The newspaper report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will make six changes to the team including starting the captain.

Against AC Milan in the Champions League, Inzaghi sent out what he felt was his strongest eleven.

Compared to Wednesday’s derby, the coach is ready to make several changes to the team.

One eye-catching change will be Andre Onana dropping to the bench with captain Handanovic taking over in goal.

Samir Handanovic To Continue To Be Called Upon By Inter In Serie A Vs Sassuolo

Whilst Onana has played every single minute of Inter’s Champions League campaign, Handanovic has often been the man to start in the league.

The 38-year-old started against Hellas Verona last week.

Moreover, Handanovic has also started league matches against Udinese, Spezia, and Empoli recently.

The Slovenian had begun the season as first-choice in goal ahead of Onana.

However, in October the Cameroonian overtook Handanovic as the main starter between the posts.

Nevertheless, the captain retains the trust of Inter coach Inzaghi.

The coach had also handed Handanovic a start in the Coppa Italia semifinal first leg against Juventus

Changes In Attack & Defense Also Expected

Handanovic will not be the only rotation to Inter’s squad tomorrow evening.

Both Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko will drop to the bench, with Joaquin Correa and Romelu Lukaku ready to comprise the attacking pair.

In defense, the Gazzetta reports that both Stefan de Vrij and Danilo D’Ambrosio will start in the back three.

On the left of the trio, Francesco Acerbi is set to start rather than Alessandro Bastoni.

Meanwhile, in midfield the Gazzetta anticipates that Marcelo Brozovic will start rather than Hakan Calhanoglu.
