Inter Milan wingback Raoul Bellanova feels that the Nerazzurri must immediately put their midweek win over AC Milan behind them.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster InterTV, via FCInterNews, the 22-year-old stressed focusing on this evening’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo rather than the derby win.

Inter will be brimming confidence after last Wednesday’s win over Milan.

Against the Rossoneri in the derby, the Nerazzurri secured a well-deserved 2-0 win. This was all the more important given that it means that Inter have put one foot in the Champions League final.

However, it is not as though Inter can simply rest on their laurels.

The Nerazzurri will play a heavily-rotated team against Sassuolo this evening. Young wingback Bellanova gets a relatively rare start against the Neroverdi.

However, against a tough opponent Inter will have to try and capitalize on stumbles by AC Milan and Lazio to cement their top four spot in the league table.

Even with a rotated side, the Nerazzurri must approach this evening’s match as a massively important one.

Raoul Bellanova Wants Inter To Put AC Milan Win Behind Them

“We’re coming off the back of a very important match and an incredible evening,” Bellanova said of Wednesday’s derby win.

“But we have to try to put it in the archives, because tonight we have to go in search of three points.”

“At this point in the season we can’t afford any missteps in the league table,” Bellanova added. “We have to give our best.”

Of the heavily-rotated starting eleven, Bellanova stated that “Recently we’ve been rotating a lot, but the results have always been positive.”

“We have a squad made up of top players, both the players who player and those who don’t,” the 22-year-old continued.

“I don’t think there are any issues with the lineup, we’ll give our best.”

Of this evening’s opposition, Bellanova said that “Every time Sassuolo come to San Siro, they’ve always done well.”

“They have very talented players, especially in attack,” the wingback said. “We’ll have to try and contain them as much as possible, and then hurt them.”

Bellanova also spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

The 22-year-old noted that “The hardest thing is concentrating on another match after such an incredible evening [Wednesday’s derby win.]”

“But tonight we have a very important match, which could be decisive for qualifying for the Champions League,” he continuied.

“We pay for each misstep because all the teams are in the hunt,” he added.

“And Sassuolo has often caused problems for us.”

“They’re a technical team, we have to try to keep the ball,” Bellanova said of the Neroverdi.
