Inter Milan’s match-winner Lautaro Martinez feels that after beating AC Milan this evening, now the Nerazzurri must go on and give everything in the UCL final.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after beating the Rossoneri in the semifinal second leg, via FCInterNews, the Argentine suggested that he always felt that the Nerazzurri could get to this point.
Inter will play in the biggest match in European club competition.
The Nerazzurri beat their city rivals Milan in both legs of the derby semifinal tie to get there. Now, the Nerazzurri will wait and see whether they face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final next month.
Either would be a massively formidable test. City and Real are widely regarded as two of Europe’s absolutely elite teams.
However, the Nerazzurri have already had a very tough path to get to where they already are.
There are ninety minutes to go for Inter. The players have a shot at something that would transform this season into an all-time great one.
Inter Derby Hero Lautaro Martinez: Always Believed UCL Final Was Possible
“I believe there’s a lot of history in this match,” Inter striker Lautaro Martinez said.
“I felt it,” said the Argentine who scored the only goal of the match to secure the tie. “I told the guys in the dressing room.”
“We did a great job across both matches,” Martinez said.
“The group was key for us, I had a similar experience at the World Cup,” he added. “If you can convey that you’re a good group, you get to experience these incredible matches.”
“Every time I take to the pitch I try to give my best and give a hand to my teammates,” the Inter striker added. “After winning the World Cup we knew we had this opportunity to reach the Champions League final.”
