The father of Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi feels that now it’s time for the 47-year-old to enjoy a well-deserved rest after he guided the Nerazzurri to the final of the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian news outlet LaPresse, via FCInterNews, Inzaghi’s father Giancarlo gave his thoughts. The elder Inzaghi also noted that he and his other son Filippo have spoken with the Inter coach.

Simone Inzaghi has done something special with Inter this season. He could have the team on the precipice of something even greater, if they can win the Champions League for the fourth time in the club’s history.

It has come as the result of gruelling work, however. The Nerazzurri have put everything into the past few months.

Inter have had to play virtually every three days for more than a month now. Commitments in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the latter stages of the Champions League have taken everything out of them.

Father Of Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi: Time To Rest Up

Inzaghi and Inter still have more to do this season.

There is the league, where they must wrap things up by keeping their top four spot over the last three matches. Then, there is the Coppa Italia final. Inter will face Fiorentina for a chance to defend last season’s crown in one week’s time.

However, for the next few days, Inter can enjoy what they’ve done in the Champions League.

Whilst there’s also next weekend’s Serie A clash with Napoli to prepare for, there is time to take a breather.

“This morning, it’s the time for him to relax, after so much tension,” Inzaghi’s father Giancarlo said.

He also noted that “Simone and Filippo spoke.” Inter coach Inzaghi’s brother is legendary former AC Milan and Juventus striker Filippo Inzaghi. Filippo is also currently coach of Reggina in Serie B.

“Then I spoke to him about ten minutes after the final whistle, and when he got home at around two o’clock,” Giancarlo added. “He was very happy, and we are too.”
