Inter Milan linked midfielder Franck Kessie is likely set to leave Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

This according to Spanish news outlet Sport, via FCInterNews. The Spanish outlet report that Blaugranas coach Xavi will tell the 26-year-old that he is no longer part of the sporting project in Catalonia.

According to Sport, Kessie is no longer a player who Barcelona want to keep hold of. Despite only joining last summer from AC Milan, the Blaugranas do not see the Ivorian international as having a regular role in the starting eleven.

According, Barcelona are keen to offload Kessie to save on his high wages.

Inter Target Kessie Could Leave Barcelona For Serie A, But Only On One Condition

According to Sport, all of Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus are keen on Kessie’s signature.

The Nerazzurri have considered the Ivorian a target for some time. He has been on their radar since he was an Atalanta player.

However, none of the trio of Italian giants would be likely to sign Kessie for a fee, Sport reports. Rather a player exchange could see Kessie join any of the three.

Inter had already been in talks for a deal of that nature in the January transfer window.

Nerazzurri midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is a target for Barcelona, and the two clubs discussed a potential swap deal.

Barcelona Eye Up Wolves & Man City Players As Kessie Replacements

According to Sport, Barcelona have replacements in mind for Kessie.

The Blaugranas will seek to tweak their midfield with players of slightly different profiles.

One is Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. Barcelona are keen to tempt the German to join on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is also a target for the Blaugranas. The Portuguese international’s low wages are a key reason why Barcelona feels he’s within reach, Sport report.

According to Sport, Barcelona coach Xavi will personally speak to Kessie to convince him to leave.

The ex-Milan midfielder would still like to stay and have a chance to establish himself at the Camp Nou. However, Sport reports that the coach will make clear that he’s not part of the plans and would be best seeking a move elsewhere.
