Inter defender Matteo Darmian has wished good luck to Man City and Real Madrid in the other Champions League semifinal.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 33-year-old gave his thoughts on the possibility of who the Nerazzurri will meet in the final of Europe’s top club competition in Istanbul next month.

Now Inter can officially start thinking about who they’ll face in the Champions League final.

The Nerazzurri booked their place in the match with a win over AC Milan in the semifinals.

Inter won’t have to wait long to find out who they’re going to face. City will host Real in the second leg of the other semifinal match in less than 24 hours.

That tie is balanced on the edge of a knife after a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu in the first leg.

Whichever of the two sides Inter come up against, they know they have a hugely difficult match in store. City and Real are regarded as two of European football’s elite.

Inter Defender Matteo Darmian: Best Of Luck To Both Man City & Real Madrid

“Good luck to both of them,” Inter defender Darmian said when asked about City and Real. “And to one of them, see you in Madrid.”

Of what reaching the final means to the team, Darmian said that “We have to be proud of what we have done, it’s not every season that we get to the Champions League final.”

“We’ve come along on an incredible journey,” he continued. “When the group was drawn, many people said we would never get through.”

“But we always believed in the technical and personal qualities of this team,” the 33-year-old former Manchester United man said. “They’re the ones that took us to Istanbul.”
