The coaching staff of Simone Inzaghi have been hailed for the role they’ve played in keeping Inter Milan remaining in top condition over the climactic final weeks of the season.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, praise the Nerazzurri’s coaching and training staff.
Simone Inzaghi has turned things around at Inter. However, the 47-year-old hasn’t done it alone.
As the Corriere notes, the coaching staff behind the scenes have deserved a lot of credit for their work.
The Nerazzurri have looked at their freshest over the decisive final weeks of the campaign. This despite the fact that the fixture list has been more packed than ever, fighting on three fronts.
Athletic Coach Fabio Ripert Praised For Role In Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan
The work of Fabio Ripert in getting Inter in tip-top shape is highlighted by the Gazzetta.
The athletic coach has been with Inzaghi since the coach’s time at Lazio. There, Ripert was nicknamed “Mr. 85.”
This was due to Ripert’s insistence on keeping the team at 85% in terms of condition. The athletic coach strives to avoid getting the team at absolute peak condition if it’s at the expense of later fitness.
The result has been that Inzaghi’s teams do not tend to look burnt out, even late into gruelling seasons.
Moreover, physical therapist Claudio Spicciarello has had an important role to play as well. Spiciarello has ensured that muscle injuries have been relatively few and far between throughout the campaign.
Inzaghi’s Assistant Massimiliano Farris Also Praised
Inzaghi would be nowhere without the work of his number two in command Massimiliano Farris.
The two men are renowned for a close and simpatico working relationship. Since meeting in 2010, Inzaghi and Farris have given each other inspiration, as they share many of the same views about football.
The assistant coach has had a vital role making sure that Inzaghi isn’t left alone commanding the team. He has also had to fill in for the head coach occasionally.
In terms of Inzaghi’s tactical assistants, the Gazzetta highlight Mario Cecchi and Riccardo Rocchini.
Goalkeeping coach Gianluca Zappala is also important, whilst Adriano Bonaiuti has been at Inter since before Inzaghi arrived, as he is a longtime associate of Samir Handanovic.
Finally, the Gazzetta hails athletic coach Andrea Belli, the analysis staff (Lorenzon, Castellani, Toninato, Rustico and Muratore), and Ferruccio Cerasaro, a technical collaborator.
