The agent of Chelsea and Manchester United target Andre Onana has made clear that Onana is happy at Inter Milan.

Speaking to the Twitch channel of CalcioMercato.it, via FCInter1908, the Cameroonian’s agent Alberto Botines admitted that transfer rumours are to be expected, but stressed that the player is happy on a long-term deal with the Nerazzurri.

Onana only joined Inter last summer.

The 27-year-old joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer from Ajax.

Onana signed a five-year contract with Inter, taking him until the end of June 2028. The Cameroonian was brought in as a long-term heir to Samir Handanovic as the long-term goalkeeper.

It hasn’t taken Onana long to establish his place at the Nerazzurri. The 27-year-old has been ahead of Handanovic as first-choice in goal since the fall.

A series of outstanding performances along the way to the Champions League final has really gone some way towards establishing Onana’s strong reputation.

This has, perhaps predictably, led to a number of transfer rumours. Reportedly, both of Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing Onana as early as this summer.

Chelsea Target Andre Onana – Goalkeeper Happy At Inter

“Transfer rumors are normal at this stage,” Onana’s agent Botines said. “But I prefer not to talk about it, because it’s still very early, and right now the player is only focused on the pitch.”

He continued that “We have a five-year contract with Inter. hHe has another four years on his contract, and right now he’s only focused on the Serie A run-in and on the Champions League final.”

“He still has a long contract,” Botines noted. “Don’t worry.”

“He’s very happy, he’s playing for the strongest team in Italy.”

Of the process that led Onana to joining Inter, Botiness looked back that “I had the first contact with [Nerazzurri Sporting Director] Piero Ausilio, even before his suspension.”

“When the suspension was made official, Ausilio reaffirmed his willingness to sign him to Inter,” the agent continued.

“Since then he decided to join Inter no matter what, despite the many other offers that arrived.”

And of the goalkeeper’s relationship with his Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi, Botines said that “Onana likes Inzaghi a lot. He’s a lovely person who’s constantly talking with his players.”

“This is why he initially accepted the role of backup keeper,” the agent noted. “He also has an excellent relationship with Handanovic.”
