Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta gives Inter Milan about a 30% chance of beating Man City.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the former defender gave his thoughts on the chances that the Nerazzurri can get the better of the Champions League final next month.

Inter will be well aware that they have a mountain to climb in Istanbul on June 10.

Pep Guardiola’s City team are regarded as one of the strongest in all of World football. In fact, many regard the Cityzens as head and shoulders above the rest.

Accordingly, it could be easy to see the final against City as virtually an impossible ask for Inter.

However, it is not as though there have been no big underdog wins in European knockout competition.

Moreover, Inter have already shown their comfort levels playing against some of the continent’s elite. Over the past two seasons, the Nerazzurri have faced off against Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona among others.

Costacurta: Inter Milan Have 3 In 10 Chance Vs Man City

Legendary former Milan defender Costacurta was asked what he thinks Inter’s chances are.

“I’d say 30%,” he said.

“We were also favourites against Marseille in 1993,” he noted, speaking about the Rossoneri in the 1993 final. “But we lost in an incredible match, full of our shots and chances.”

“Marseille looked beaten, but scored from corners and won.”

Of Man City, Costacurta said that “They’ve been the strongest team in the world for years. They’ve only failed to win this competition due to random circumstances.”

“Haaland is an absolutely world-class player, and will lead City to a Champions League title at some point.”

“At that point, it’s impossible not to put this team among the strongest in history,” he argued. Winning five out of six Premier League titles is crazy. And yet…”
