Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini could be in the Inter Milan starting eleven for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash away to Napoli.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. The 29-year-old ex-Atalanta man is mooted as a possible surprise start in midfield.

Inter will have to carefully manage their squad over the next few matches.

The Nerazzurri are not yet over the finish line this season. For the next couple weeks, the matches will continue to come thick and fast.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has decried the packed schedule, arguing that it puts player safety at risk.

The Nerazzurri’s last big run of the campaign will start at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples tomorrow. Three points from tomorrow’s match would mean taking a huge step towards a top four finish.

However, the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina is also just around the corner. As are league clashes with Atalanta and Torino.

Roberto Gagliardini Could Start For Inter Vs Napoli

In midfield, the injury to Henrikh Mkhitaryan means that rotating the team won’t be straightforward.

Marcelo Brozovic is likely to be called upon. However, the next four matches before the Champions League final will require more rotation than just that. The fitness of Nicolo Barella will be particularly important to consider.

According to the Gazzetta, Gagliardini could be given his chance tomorrow.

The former Atalanta midfielder, who joined the Nerazzurri in 2017, is set to leave at the end of the season. Gagliardini’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of next month and he will not extend his deal.

However, Inzaghi could still make use of Gagliardini in the coming matches.

The ex-Atalanta man has five more potential opportunities to play for the Nerazzurri.

According to the Gazzetta, coach Inzaghi is seriously thinking about starting Gagliardini against Napoli tomorrow.
