Midfielder Nicolo Barella has been named as the Nerazzurri’s most impressive performance in a 3-1 Napoli win over Inter Milan.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, gave the 26-year-old a score of 6.5/10 in the player ratings for the match, arguing that if there was a player who didn’t deserve to be on the losing side it was him.

No Inter player was at their best in yesterday evening’s match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

This was certainly the case with Roberto Gagliardini. The 29-year-old’s disastrous display ended in an unnecessary sending-off towards the end of the first half.

Tuttosport criticized Gagliardini’s display, giving the former Atalanta man a paltry 4/10 grade.

Nicolo Barella Praised For Performance In Napoli Vs Inter Milan Clash

There were a few Inter players who came in for praise from the Turin-based newspaper, however.

Foremost among them was Barella.

The former Cagliari midfielder is commended for his energy in the midfield battle. Whilst Barella was not able to produce anything telling in the final third, he did at least give his team a foothold in a tough midfield battle against Stanislav Lobotka, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and Piotr Zielinski.

Barella isn’t the only player from Inter’s team who Tuttosport give a more positive appraisal of.

Dumfries Improved Inter’s Right Flank After Mediocre Bellanova Display

Tuttosport also highlight the performance of wingback Denzel Dumfries.

The Dutchman came on for Raoul Bellanova during the second half.

For much of his time on the pitch, Bellanova was occupied by Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Whilst the 22-year-old didn’t make any major errors, he was regularly pushed back by the Georgian.

Bellanova had one very impressive run forward, but otherwise had to put in a shift.

Dumfries, on the other hand, brought fresh leg and was able to get forward more tellingly.

Moreover, the 27-year-old former PSV man could have had an assist with a pinpoint cross that a tired-looking Romelu Lukaku did not gamble on.
