Legendary former AC Milan, Dynamo Kiev, and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko is expecting tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia final between Inter Milan and Fiorentina to be a closely-fought encounter.

Speaking to the official website of the Lega Serie A, via FCInterNews, the Ukrainian predicted an even final tomorrow.

On paper, Inter perhaps go into the Stadio Olimpico as slight favourites tomorrow evening.

The Nerazzurri are in the top four in the Serie A table, whilst La Viola sit in midtable. Moreover, Inter are Champions League final, certainly a testament to their quality.

However, the last time these two teams met, it was Fiorentina who came out on top.

Vincenzo Italiano’s team ran out 1-0 winners from the San Siro last month.

Moreover, in terms of individual quality, both of Fiorentina and Inter can call upon high-quality and deep squads.

As far as form goes, both the Nerazzurri and La Viola seem to have crested in form for the run-in. Both of the two teams have had to endure seasons that have been anything but consistent.

However, both of the pair have seemingly put those setbacks behind them for the business end of the campaign.

Both Inter and Fiorentina are in European finals in addition to facing off in the Coppa Italia final tomorrow.

Andriy Shevchenko: No Favourites Between Inter & Fiorentina

For Shevchenko’s part, the former striker is expecting the margins to be tight at the Olimpico.

“They’re two in-form teams who will also play in European finals in the not-too-distant future,” he said.

“So it will be a very interesting match, both come into off the back of a number of good results, and they’ll do everything to raise the Coppa.”

“You have to live in the moment with the joy of having gotten to this point,” Shevchenko said. “But also have calmness and awareness of your quality.”

“It will be very tight,” the Ukrainian said.

“The fact that beyond this, both of them have European finals to come just makes it more brilliant!”

“Just as it is wonderful that Italian football is returning to the top level,” Shevchenko added.
