Former Nerazzurri, Viola, Roma, and Manchester City midfielder David Pizarro feels that Fiorentina have no reason to feel that they are inferior to their Coppa Italia final opponents Inter Milan.

Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the Chilean argue that La Viola “have nothing to envy technically” when it comes to the Nerazzurri.

Inter could well be perceived as favourites in tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia final.

The Nerazzurri have a strong squad, and are in excellent form. This has seen Simone Inzaghi’s reach the summit of European football, the Champions League final.

However, La Viola are also in great form. Moreover, Vincenzo Italiano’s side also have a European final of their own on the way, against West Ham United.

This Fiorentina team is full of technically gifted players, as well as pace and incisiveness all over the pitch.

For Pizarro, there is no reason at all to think tomorrow’s match will be one-sided. It will be, in his eyes, a clash between two high-quality teams on equal footing.

Pizarro: Fiorentina Have No Reason To Fear Inter Milan

“There’s no forecasted outcome yet,” Pizarro said of tomorrow’s match.

“It’s true, Inter are in the Champions League final and that makes them scary,” he continued. “But Fiorentina haven’t won a trophy for too long, and at this level, enthusiasm makes the difference.”

“On a technical level, Fiorentina have nothing to envy Inter,” Pizarro made clear.

“The last part of the season has been a breath of fresh air for both teams,” the Chilean said. “However, neither of them can be happy with their season in Serie A.”

Pizarro was then asked about Inter coach Simone Inzaghi. The 47-year-old has gone from looking nearly sacked, to leading the Nerazzurri into the Champions League final.

“This is football,” he said. “It’s a schizophrenic world that I know all too well.”

“One day you’re nothing, the next a king.”

“The truth is that, in addition to Simone doing a good job, it was the top players in the squad who above all remembered that they have to win something,” he suggested.
