Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has admitted that “No one is untouchable” as the summer transfer window looms.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive also gave his continued backing to coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inter are about to head into another summer transfer window.

The last couple have been fairly chaotic ones for the Nerazzurri.

In 2021, the departure of Antonio Conte as head coach was followed by huge money sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku. These were made in order to meet financial objectives.

Then, last summer, Milan Skriniar was persistently linked with a big sale to Paris Saint-Germain. The Slovakian stayed in the end, although now he is set to join the Parisians on a free transfer.

Accordingly, some Inter fans could be worried that this summer is set to be another in the same vein.

In recent weeks, the future of Chelsea target Andre Onana has been speculated on to no small extent.

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta: No Player “Untouchable”

Nerazzurri CEO Marotta has not exactly poured cold water on the notion that sales are a possibility.

Asked about the transfer market, the executive made clear that “No one is untouchable.”

And regarding the future of Romelu Lukaku, Marotta said that “We know he’s still owned by Chelsea. We’ll see.”

The CEO also opened up about coach Inzaghi. “During a season, a coach can be faced with negative results, and there is always ample room for criticism.”

“Our trust in him has never faltered,” he noted, however. “There always have to be daily discussions with the directors, for the good of the club.”

“The team has recovered very well, we have to give ample credit to the coach.”

And asked about Inzaghi’s future, Marotta said that “The season so far has been extremely positive, with one black mark which is the title race, in which we were out of it too soon.”

“The extraordinary dates with destiny in the Coppa Italia and Champions League finals brings this club back to its glorious destiny,” he added.
