Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is going after the tenth trophy of his career in tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inzaghi and Inter are hoping to defend last season’s Coppa Italia crown at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow. Standing in their way will be Fiorentina.

That Coppa Italia is one of three trophies that Inzaghi has won in his first two seasons with Inter. The 47-year-old has also won the Supercoppa Italiana twice.

Inzaghi had also won three trophies whilst in charge of Lazio. He had won the Coppa Italia with the capital club in 2019, and the Supercoppa Italiana in both 2017 and 2019.

Inzaghi had also reached the final of the Coppa Italia with the Biancocelesti in 2017, though they lost to Juventus.

Three titles with Lazio’s Primavera team can be added to those, putting Inzaghi’s current career total at nine, notes Tuttsport.

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi Can Join Ranks Of Great Coppa Italia Coaches Vs Fiorentina

Tuttosport further notes that Inzaghi has the chance to become one of the most successful coaches in the Coppa Italia’s history with a win over La Viola tomorrow.

The ex-Lazio boss currently sits on two wins in the competition.

A win tomorrow would put him level with Eugenio Bersellini, Nereo Rocco, and Nils Liedholm.

Bersellini had won the competition twice with Inter, and then once while coaching Sampdoria. Rocco won all three of his titles in the competition with AC Milan, and Liedholm with Roma.

Meanwhile, if Inzaghi can win the Coppa Italia tomorrow, he’d be one away from the three men with the most titles in the history of the competition.

Roberto Mancini won the Coppa Italia with Lazio, before winning it three times in a row with Inter. Perhaps Inzaghi could aim to follow a similar pattern at the Nerazzurri.

Sven-Goran Eriksson won the competition with all of Roma, Sampdoria, and Lazio over the years. Meanwhile, current Juventus boss Max Allegri can boast four Coppa Italia wins during his previous spell in charge of the Bianconeri.
