Lega Serie A CEO Luigi Di Siervo has confirmed that tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia final between Inter Milan and Fiorentina will beat the gate receipts for last season’s final between the Nerazzurri and Juventus.

Speaking to Italian news service ANSA, via FCInterNews, Di Siervo confirmed that the final will be sold out.

Inter and Fiorentina will meet at the Coppa Italia tomorrow evening to fight for one of Italian football’s most prestigious honours.

The Nerazzurri will be aiming to defend their crown in the competition from last season. Meanwhile, La Viola will hope to end the season with silverware, something that’s been missing from the Stadio Artemio Franchi in recent years.

Both Inter coach Simone Inzaghi and captain Samir Handanovic have underlined just how important tomorrow’s final is.

Unsurprisingly, then, the demand to see the match at the Stadio Olimpico is high.

Clashes between the Nerazzurri and La Viola are never a small matter to begin with. Even in the absence of an established derby rivalry, it is always a big fixture.

Then, the fact that tomorrow’s match is a Coppa Italia final will make it one of Italian football’s showpiece occasions.

Di Siervo Confirms: Coppa Italia Final Between Inter & Fiorentina Sold Out

Accordingly, it will come as little surprise that tomorrow’s match will be played in front of a sold out crowd at the Olimpico.

Di Siervo confirms as much. Moreover, the Serie A CEO also notes that this season’s final is set to have higher gate receipts than last campaign’s.

Last time around, Inter won the competition by beating Juventus in a 4-2 thriller. That match went to extra time.

Di Siervo stated that “I can announce that the Stadio Olimpico will be sold out for tomorrow’s match. The gate receipts are higher than those from Juve-Inter last season.”
