Samir Handanovic has no doubt that being at Inter Milan means fighting to win trophies.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset ahead of tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri captain gave his thoughts on what tomorrow’s match will mean, predicting a tough and unpredictable encounter.

Handanovic is anticipated to start tomorrow’s match.

There’s a very real possibility that this could be the Slovenian’s final match for the club. However, he wants to make it count.

Handanovic has been wearing the captain’s armband at Inter for several years now.

During that period, the 38-year-old has won several pieces of silverware with the Nerazzurri. Among these have been the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia.

Now, Handanovic can lift at least one more piece of silverware, not just as captain, but as the starter.

Then, next month, the Nerazzurri could win the Champions League.

Handanovic is a player who’s been loyal to Inter through a number of difficult periods. Now, it looks as though the Slovenian will be rewarded for staying, as he hopes to end his time at the club on the most positive of notes.

Samir Handanovic: Fighting For Trophies Normal At Inter Milan

The Slovenian gave the view that “When you play for trophies, it’s always a great satisfaction for everyone.”

“We’re at Inter to do this, and in the last two or three years it’s become a normal here,” he added.

Asked how the Nerazzurri have gotten over difficult periods in the season, Handanovic replied that “Victories are the best medicine for everything.”

“Luckily we’ve always gotten to where we’ve needed to,” he continued. ‘It’s normal that during a season you have little ups and downs. Defeats help you grow.”

“We’ve found a way to approach matches, and to win them,” Handanovic added.

Asked if there’s pressure going into tomorrow’s final as favourites in the eyes of many, Handanovic replied that “You have as much pressure as you put on yourself.”

“We know it’s a final and anything can happen,” the Inter captain stressed.

“We came here to win, but we also know that Fiorentina are tough opponents who play good football and are well-prepared.”

And regarding his future, Handanovic said that “I don’t know anything yet. I haven’t decided.”

“But playing for Inter is always a source of satisfaction,” the 38-year-old added.
