Inter Milan wingback Robin Gosens feels that the Nerazzurri are a family.

Speaking to InterTV following a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia final, via FCInterNews, the German stressed the unity of the group as key to Inter’s success, and looked ahead to a Champions League final next month which he feels the Nerazzurri deserve to win.

It hasn’t always been an easy season for Inter.

However, the Nerazzurri have capped it off with at least one more trophy.

This evening, Inter came back from a goal down to beat Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico.

Now, the players can dream of something even more – Manchester City await them in Istanbul next month.

Inter Milan Wingback Robin Gosens Reflects On Tough Tests This Season

“It hasn’t always been an easy season for us,” Gosens said.

“Two months ago everyone was talking about us being in an awful place, we were in a crisis.”

“I’ve already said that our strength was honesty with ourselves,” Gosens continued.

“We never backed down, and that made the difference,” the 28-year-old said. “We’re deservedly in the Champions League final, we beat very strong teams and our biggest rivals to get there.”

“We’re happy to have won the first final,” Gosens said of the Coppa Italia. Now we have two more finals in the league, because we also need some crucial points there.”

“And then we go to Istanbul, with a great desire to bring home a very important trophy that this team and this club deserve.”

Gosens: Nerazzurri A “Family”

Next, Gosens was asked what term best describes Inter.

“Family,” the 28-year-old replied. “It best expresses our team: all together, united.”

“Only by fighting as a family can you accomplish things like this.”

Of the final win over Fiorentina, he said that “We started off this final a little bit slowly. We conceded a bad goal right at the start, but then we showed once again that we’re a team.”

“We’re united, we really want to fight for each other,” the former Atalanta man added.

“And that’s also why we deserved to win.”
