Man City striker Erling Haaland has sent a message to Inter Milan and Man United.
Speaking to UK-based tabloid the Daily Mail, via FCInterNews, the Norwegian made clear that the Cityzens intend to try and impose their style of play in both the Champions League and FA Cup finals, which they go into as favourites.
Man City have a European treble to play for at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s team have finished the season as Premier League champions for the fifth time in six seasons. They have seen off the formidable competition of Arsenal in the process.
The Gunners proved to be City’s closest rivals in the domestic league, but the Cityzens showed their clear superiority in the end.
Standing in City’s way in Europe will be Inter Milan. And, in the FA Cup, the Cityzens’ city rivals United will aim to prevent them from winning the treble.
Haaland Warns Inter Milan & Man United: Watch Out
United have already beaten City once in a derby this season. Inter, on the other hand, have arguably never faced a team like this during the campaign.
The Nerazzurri could have some ideas about how to stop City. Moreover, they could look to negate the influence of Haaland on the biggest stage.
However, they’ll know full well what they’re up against.
For Haaland, it has been a record-breaking season on a personal level. And for City, it’s been another campaign in which they’ve set the standard in the English top flight.
As to whether or not City can finally do it in Europe’s biggest competition, Inter could have something to say about that.
The Nerazzurri would not be the first team to beat City as underdogs in the Champions League.
However, Haaland embraces the status of favourites.
“There are two finals left,” he said. “We have to stay focused even though we won the Premier League.”
“We have to stay focused to achieve what we can achieve in the next two finals. I will do everything I can to achieve good things in the finals and hopefully win both”
“It’s a good thing being favourites (against Inter Milan),” the striker added, “because it means we have qualities.”
“We have to attack the game in our way, play our football and in the end we’ll see who wins it.”
