Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta is targeting young Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and striker Rasmu Hojlund.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who note that while the pair will be facing the Nerazzurri this evening, CEO Marotta could try to bring one or both of the two starlets to the San Siro this summer or in 2024.

This evening, Inter and Atalanta will face off in Serie A.

The match will be a hugely consequential one for the final top four in the table. One point would be enough for Inter to secure a Champions League.

Meanwhile, La Dea could still hope to catch up to the Nerazzurri or AC Milan.

However, once the transfer window opens, Marotta could be looking at Atalanta in a different ways.

According to the Gazzetta, the Inter CEO is looking at a couple of young Atalanta talents as potential signings to build the future of the Inter squad around.

Marotta has not hidden the fact that 19-year-old defender Scalvini is a target. The Italy international is one of Marotta and Inter’s dream signings to become a bedrock of their defense for the future.

However, the Gazzetta note that Atalanta have no intention of letting Scalvini go this summer.

La Dea would like to keep hold of the defender in the hopes that his value will rise even higher next summer.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Hojlund is also a player very much on Marotta’s radar.

The Dane only joined Atalanta from Sturm Graz last summer.

However, 20-year-old Hojlund has already enjoyed a real breakout season in Serie A. He has scored eight goals so far in thirty league matches for the Lombard club.

According to the Gazzetta, Marotta would see Hojlund as a major target in attack. This could either be for the upcoming summer transfer window, or for next summer.
