Legendary former defender Beppe Bergomi feels that Inter Milan will need good coverage of the entire pitch to beat Man City in the Champions League final next month.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, Bergomi gave his thoughts on the upcoming final.

Inter will know just what they’re up against in Istanbul on June 10.

Many regard this Manchester City side as the best in all of world football. This is not without reason.

Pep Guardiola‘s Cityzens dispatched Real Madrid by a scoreline of 4-0 in the semifinal second leg to reach the final.

Moreover, winning the Premier League five times in the last six attempts is certainly no mean feat.

However, City have been gotten at this season. Whether in the Premier League or in Europe, there have been moments in which it has been made clear that Guardiola’s team can be vulnerable in certain moments.

Bergomi: Inter Milan Must Cover Pitch Well & Stay In The Match Vs Man City

Legendary former Inter captain Bergomi has some ideas on how his old team can cope with City.

He noted that “City are a complete team, they don’t just play one type of football.”

“They can defend, they practically have 4four central defenders in defense,” he noted. “Haaland gives them a threat in behind and physical strength that they didn’t have before.”

“Then there are also the wingers,” he went on.

Referring to yesterday’s Premier League loss, Begomi then observed that “Today they lost against Brentford. They also lost in the reverse fixture, and Brentford play a 5-3-2 shape.”

“What does this mean?” Bergomi posed. “You have to cover them very well.”

He argued that “Inter have cover the pitch well, stay in the game and not go down too early. Their substitutions are vital to their approach.”

“Inter have to take a risk,” Bergomi argued. “They need to get out of defense and get past the first line of pressing.”

He also noted that “Dzeko is better than Lukaku is in the air.”
