Barcelona want to offload Inter Milan target Franck Kessie during the summer transfer window to lower their wage bill.

This according to Spanish news outlet Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Blaugranas will aim to find a new club for the 26-year-old, and that Inter are interested although only on a loan or player swap arrangement.

Despite only having arrived at Barcelona last summer on a free transfer from AC Milan, he is already out of favour according to Sport.

The Ivorian has not really cemented a place in the starting eleven under Blaugranas coach Xavi. Accordingly, he could leave the Camp Nou this summer.

Sport report that Kessie’s desire is still to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place.

However, the report continues, the Blaugranas are of the view that a summer departure would be the best.

This is particularly the case given Barcelona’s aim of lowering their wage bill during the summer. Given that Kessie isn’t a central player to Barcelona’s sporting project, they do not want to continue paying his high wages.

Barcelona & Inter Could Negotiate Player Swap Involving Franck Kessie

It is no secret that Inter are interested in Kessie if he is on the market.

The Ivorian has been on the Nerazzurri’s radar since he was an Atalanta player.

However, Sport report, the only way a deal to bring Kessie to Inter would happen would be a loan or player exchange.

The Nerazzurri have financial restrictions of their own. This would make a move to sign Kessie for a transfer fee difficult.

However, a swap deal could be a possibility. As Sport notes, Inter and Barcelona have already mooted the idea of an exchange between Kessie and Marcelo Brozovic.

If the two clubs can negotiate a deal along these lines, Kessie could move to Inter this summer.
