Both of Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and forward Joaquin Correa are likely to be fit for the Champions League final against Man City later this month.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that the pair are both targeting the final and are seemingly on track.

Inter coach Inzaghi will be hoping that he can have his full squad at his disposal for June 10.

The Nerazzurri coach will know that he needs more than just a strong starting eleven. Up against Man City, Inzaghi will also be counting on an impact from the bench.

Accordingly, the 47-year-old is very pleased at prospect of all his senior players fit and available for the final in Istanbul.

Mkhitaryan On Track To Be Fit To Play UCL Final

The fitness of midfielder Mkhitaryan is one key question for Inter ahead of the final.

The Armenian former Arsenal and Roma man has emerged as a key player in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven this season. He has racked up a total of 48 appearances across all competitions so far.

Mkhitaryan picked up a thigh problem in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semifinal second leg win over AC Milan.

This has meant that the 34-year-old has missed out on a few league matches, as well as the Champions League final.

Marcelo Brozovic has regained his starting spot in midfield.

However, Mkhitaryan should be fit for the final. This will give Inzaghi a big question of whether the Armenian will start against City or not.

The precise match-fitness of Mkhitaryan will be crucial in the coach’s decision.

Correa Could Join Mkhitaryan In Being Available Against Man City

Then, there is the question of forward Joaquin Correa’s availability.

Injuries have been a theme of the Argentine’s time at Inter since he joined from Lazio in 2021. Correa picked up yet another problem recently, in the form of a calf strain.

Correa had come off the bench in the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina. However, the 28-year-old suffered an injury in that appearance.

However, Correa could still be fit for the final against Man City. The Corriere report that this is the target for his recovery process.
