Young Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito considers current Nerazzurri striker Edin Dzeko as well as Barcelona and former Bayern Munich man Roberto Lewandowski to be his main inspirations.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, the 17-year-old also admitted that he dreams of playing in Serie A some day.

Young striker Esposito is considered to be one of the jewels of Inter’s current academy setup.

The teenager is the younger brother of striker Sebastiano and midfielder Salvatore.

Whereas Sebastiano is currently out on loan with Bari, and Salvatore is a Spezia player, Francesco Pio is still at Inter.

The young striker has been one of the outstanding players in the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks this campaign.

In his own words, Esposito is trying to model his game off of some of the very best players in his position.

One is a player he’s had the opportunity to train with – Dzeko. The Bosnian has established himself as one of Europe’s best players in his position during spells with Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, and now Inter.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski has been one of the most prolific strikers in all of Europe for several seasons now. The Pole spent the last season spent the last season with Barcelona.

However, it is in the Bundesliga where Lewandowski made his name. The striker spent over a decade at Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Inter Starlet Esposito: Dzeko & Lewandowski Inspire Me

“Between me and my brothers, perhaps I’m a little less technical out of the three of us,” Esposito said. “But I’m certainly the most attack-minded player.”

“I’m more physical and I try to be a point of reference in attack.”

“If I have to name strikers that inspire me, I’ll say a classic number nine like Luca Toni,” Esposito continued.

“Thinking in terms of more modern players, and obviously these players are on a different level than me, but I’ll say Lewandowski who I really like, but also Edin Dzeko with whom I trained at Inter,” he continued.

“I think that in terms of my characteristics, I’m a bit similar to them.”

And, asked about what his dream is, Esposito replied “My dream is obviously to get to play in Serie A.”

“And then.. I’d like to wear the senior national team shirt,” he added.
