Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is not likely to rotate the starting eleven too much for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Torino.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that Inzaghi still hasn’t made up his mind on the lineup.
Inter have just one more Serie A match to go before the end of the season, away to Torino. Then, the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Given that the final against City is not far away, Inzaghi could be considering resting most of his key players.
The coach will not want to risk injuries to players who he wants to be at their best against City.
Accordingly, reports have suggested that youngsters like Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Dennis Curatolo could be given a start against Torino.
Inzaghi Doesn’t Want To Rotate Inter Milan Team Too Much Vs Torino
According to Sky, however, Inzaghi will not be keen to rotate his team excessively.
The reason for this is that the coach still wants to end the league season on a high note. Inzaghi is thinking that a win against Torino would be the perfect way to head into the Champions League final.
The coach wants his players heading to Istanbul with momentum behind them.
Moreover, the match against Torino could be used as a kind of “test match” for Man City.
The coach has one final opportunity to see how his team are doing, and he doesn’t want to treat it as a dead rubber.
The pressure is largely off compared to when Inter’s place in the top four had looked in jeopardy. Now, the Nerazzurri have already qualified for next season’s Champions League final with a match to spare.
Nevertheless, Inter could still finish anywhere from second to fourth in the table. Inzaghi will be keen to finish as high up as possible.
