Striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic are still pushing to start for Inter Milan against Man City.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the pair could use tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Torino as their final opportunity to make the case for themselves to start in the Champions League final later this month.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi theoretically has decisions to make all over the pitch for the Champions League final.

In reality, however, the coach has already made up his mind for most positions.

Barring injuries or fitness concerns, or late tactical surprises, Inzaghi knows his strongest eleven. The coach will largely go with the players who have served him well through the knockout rounds so far.

However, there are a couple positions where he could still have a decision to make.

Lukaku & Brozovic Both Want To Start Vs Man City

One position where Inzaghi’s mind is not yet conclusively made up is in attack.

Lautaro Martinez will almost certainly start against City. However, Inzaghi could decide to pair Lukaku with him rather than Edin Dzeko.

Dzeko has been the one to start in all of Inter’s knockout matches so far.

However, Lukaku has made as much of a case for himself as he can to overtake the Bosnian with his recent performances. Now, the Belgian will have one more opportunity to do so against Torino.

Meanwhile, in midfield, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been starting regularly in the Champions League.

However, the Armenian has one or two fitness doubts ahead of the final. He has been injured since the semifinal second leg against AC Milan.

Brozovic has in fact started in the Champions League knockouts twice already this season. The Croat started both legs of the quarterfinal tie against Benfica.

The 30-year-old still wants to convince Inzaghi to give him the nod from the start against City.
