Federico Dimarco will be left out of Inter Milan’s squad for this evening’s clash with Serie A Torino so he can rest for the upcoming Champions League final against Man City.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

Inter are now just one week away from playing in the Champions League final against Manchester City.

That will certainly be, if not the single most important match of the Nerazzurri’s season, very close to it.

First, though, there is still one more league fixture left for Inter. Simone Inzaghi’s team travel to Turin to take on Torino in the final Serie A match of the season.

This evening’s match will hardly be entirely meaningless for the Nerazzurri. They can secure a spot in second in the league table if Lazio slip up and they beat the Granata. Alternatively, Inter could fall to fourth if they lose.

However, the fact remains that Inter have already secured a spot in the top four.

With the minimum objective of Champions League qualification wrapped up in yesterday’s Serie A victory over Atalanta, a lot of the pressure is off Inter in this evening’s away trip to face Torino.

Dimarco Excluded From Torino Vs Inter Clash To Rest For Man City Showdown

Accordingly, Inter will not want to get too preoccupied with this evening’s match.

Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will be thinking about keeping his team at their best for the absolutely massive clash with Man City next weekend.

According to FCIN, this will entail giving a rest to one of his key players.

The outlet report that Inzaghi has left Dimarco out of the squad for this evening’s match. The 25-year-old will not travel to Turin with his teammates.

Dimarco has emerged as a key player for this season. Thus, Inzaghi doesn’t want to take any risks with the wingback’s fitness.

Accordingly, Dimarco won’t get a chance to come up against his former coach Ivan Juric.
