Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi expects that his team will have to suffer and stick together in the Champions League final against Man City next weekend.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, the coach also stressed that he has plenty of doubts about his starting eleven.

Inter have only one match left to play now.

However, it is perhaps the most important, and most difficult of their entire season.

Manchester City clearly underlined their quality by winning the FA Cup over city rivals United today. The Cityzens are already Premier League champions, their fifth title in six seasons.

This means that the Nerazzurri will have to be prepared for anything.

Inter Coach Inzaghi: We’ll Have To Suffer Vs Man City

Inzaghi noted that “Today City played against United, who are an excellent team.”

“We’ll need to suffer together and play football well, because we have to take possession off of them.” he continued. “We have to attack with balance.”

“We’ll prepare for it this week,” the coach continued. “We hope to have everyone back fit and available.”

“There’s hope, and then Saturday will be a massive match that we’re all looking forward to.”

“I want to give a round of applause to my guys,” Inzaghi said. “Because playing against Torino the way we did today with a final one week away, they did very well.”

Inzaghi: Staring Lineup Doubts “Every Day”

The Inter coach was asked whether the performances of players like Marcelo Brozovic and Romelu Lukaku are giving him doubts about his starting eleven for Istanbul.

He replied, “Every day. Tomorrow we’ll have a day of rest, and then it will be an intense week.”

“It will be our 57th match this season, and looking at the 56 we’ve already played we deserve this one. We’ve also grown thanks to some losses.”

Asked what he wanted to see against Torino this evening, Inzaghi replied “I wanted to win because we owe it to the club and to our fans. We wanted to consolidate our position in the table.”

“In the last nine matches, we’ve only lost in Naples,” the coach noted. ‘We wanted to play a serious match.”

“I have to give my compliments to Torino,” Inzaghi added. “They’re a team who can cause you problems.”

Having Key Players Back Essential To Inter Bouncing Back In Form

Asked about why he thought his team had struggled earlier in this season, Inzaghi replied that “We didn’t have important players like Brozovic and Lukaku available for five months. It shouldn’t be an excuse, but they’re very important for us.”

“Then, when we started winning and getting trophies, it’s given us awareness,” the coach noted. “The team has grown.”

“In the last few months we’ve done extraordinary things,” Inzaghi observed. “We turned it around in the league and we’ve qualified for the Champions League again.”

“We’ve also won trophies, and now we have a chance to realize our dream in the final,” the coach said.

“Now we’ll go and play in the final with the weapons that we have,” Inzaghi said. “Well aware that we’re up against the team of the highest quality.”
