Ex Nerazzurri Defender Francesco Colonnese – Man City A Sublime Team But Inter Are Strong

The former Inter Milan defender told SempreInter.com he believes Pep Guardiola’s side are a sublime team. However, he warned against underestimating Inter as they too are a strong team.

Colonnese argued that although Inter are not the favorites against Manchester City, anything can happen in a final.

“Of course there is a concrete chance that Inter can win the Champions League. You play finals out on the pitch and not in the media.

“Inter are going into the final to win it, not to lose. They have to be present, they have to believe in it and everything can happen.

“Obviously it’s clear that Manchester City are a sublime team. However, Inter have demonstrated that when playing like a team and a united group, they are a very strong team” Colonnese added.

The former Lazio, Napoli and Roma defender subsequently praised the decision to keep Simone Inzaghi as Inter Milan’s coach over next season.

Francesco Colonnese – Correct To Continue With Simone Inzaghi

Francesco Colonnese argued that Inzaghi has done a good job since taking the Inter job. This despite facing many difficulties. However, Colonnese believes Inzaghi has tackled these issues with great serenity delivering good results.

“If it was the right decision to continue with Inzaghi? I think so. Inter have done well. Since Inzaghi arrived at Inter, he has been faced with a complicated situation.

“However, he has worked in a calm manner, even when faced with difficulty. Let’s remember Inter is an important club and unique.

“At Inter you have to win. And he has managed to win and to get to a Champions League final.

“And I think that he has really understood that at Inter the expectations are always high and you have to match those expectations” Colonnese concluded.

Francesco Colonnese spent two and a half seasons at Inter Milan winning the UEFA Cup in 1997/1998.
