Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic are the two main doubts for the Inter Milan starting eleven against Man City.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has less than a week to decide who will start in the Champions League final against Manchester City.

According to Tuttosport, the coach’s mind is mostly made up. Barring any big surprises, in nine out of eleven positions on the pitch he knows who he’ll go with in the starting eleven.

However, the newspaper suggest, there are still two major doubts.

These concern the attack and the base of the midfield trio.

Lukaku & Brozovic Both Aiming To Start Vs Man City

In attack, it looks very clear that Lautaro Martinez will start. However, the question of who starts alongside the Argentine is more up in the air.

Edin Dzeko has started every one of Inter’s knockout matches in both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League final.

However, Lukaku has made it clear – the Belgian wants to start against City.

Lukaku could not have done much more to convince Inzaghi, Tuttosport suggests. His performances over the past few weeks in Serie A have been outstanding.

Against Torino, the striker put in a MOTM-worthy display, even without a goal.

As such, whilst Dzeko represents a reliable and proven option in attack, Inzaghi has a big temptation to go with Lukaku from minute one.

Another player who put in a very convincing performance against Torino was midfielder Brozovic.

The Croat was the Nerazzurri’s midfield metronome, and also scored the winner. Clearly, like Lukaku Brozovic is finally back in his best form after a difficult, injury-disrupted season.

Over the season, Inzaghi has tended to prefer a midfield trio of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Calhanoglu.

However, Brozovic could well stake his claim.

The 30-year-old could start at the base of midfield, which would likely entail Calhanoglu moving to the left of the trio.
