Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is favourite to start for Inter Milan in the Champions League final against Man City, as is striker Edin Dzeko.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the pair are ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku respectively.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has a few decisions to make as far as his starting eleven for Saturday’s final against City.

The two main ones concern midfield and attack.

In the midfield trio, the coach is still deciding between Brozovic and Mkhitaryan.

A lot will depend on the fitness of the latter. Mkhitaryan has started every one of Inter’s Champions League knockout matches so far.

However, the Armenian is coming back from a thigh problem. As such, there are big questions about the Armenian’s fitness, particularly his match-fitness to start.

Mkhitaryan would likely be the favourite to start in the absence of any fitness doubts.

However, given that such questions to exist, Brozovic is the favourite to start.

Sky report that the Croat will likely start at the base of midfield trio. Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu will start either side of him.

Meanwhile, Mkhitaryan will begin the match on the bench.

Not Just Brozovic – Dzeko Also Favourite To Start For Inter Vs Man City

Meanwhile, Sky also anticipate that striker Dzeko will win the race with Romelu Lukaku to start on Saturday.

The Bosnian has started every one of Inter’s Champions League knockout matches so far. He also started in the semifinals and final of the Coppa Italia.

Lukaku has not started any knockout matches this season.

Accordingly, even with the Belgian’s outstanding form in recent weeks, he is likely to begin the match on the bench.

Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will continue to put his faith in Dzeko starting alongside Lautaro Martinez.
