Man City coach Pep Guardiola believes that this Inter Milan team are capable of getting back to the Champions League final.

Speaking in a press conference after the final, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach stated that he always expected a strong Inter team.

Inter have lost to Manchester City in the final of Europe’s top club competition.

This is in line with most of the pre-match predictions. City were widely expected to prevail in this evening’s final.

On the other hand, anyone who expected a one-sided match was certainly proven wrong.

The Nerazzurri had just as many chances to score, if not more than, their opponents.

Inter more than proved that they were not in the final by chance. They put in just as impressive performance as they had done against the likes of Barcelona, Porto, Benfica, or AC Milan.

From the perspective of Guardiola, there was never any underestimating Inter. Despite the fact that the Cityzens were considered favourites, the Spaniard always believed that they would put up a real fight.

And he thinks that this Nerazzurri team have what it takes to reach the final again in the future.

Pep Guardiola: Inter Milan Have What It Takes To Reach Another UCL Final

“There are no words that can describe the pain that Inter are feeling,”  Guardiola said.

“But they’re the second best team in Europe.”

“I’m delighted with how things went, but they had some big chances at the end,” the City coach continued.

“And if we’d conceded we could have lost in extra time.”

Guardiola stated that “We had to win in Europe, we did so against a great Inter team.”

“We had to suffer, they have physicality, but sometimes we also need a bit of luck that we didn’t have in the past.”

“We didn’t have it in the final against Chelsea, sometimes that’s how it goes.”
