Chelsea and Man United are ready to go head-to-head to try and sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana during the summer transfer window.

This according to UK news outlet the Evening Standard.

Reportedly, Chelsea are ready to launch a bit for Onana this summer.

The Blues are looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper for next season.

The Evening Standard report that Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Brentford’s David Raya are all among the Premier League giants’ targets.

However, it is Inter keeper Onana who is Chelsea’s main target.

The Evening Standard note that the working relationship between Inter and Chelsea is good.

The two clubs are ready to start negotiations regarding a potential second loan for Romelu Lukaku at the Nerazzurri. This will be third time they negotiate over the Belgian.

In 2021, Chelsea agreed a massive money to sign Lukaku, then last summer Inter negotiated a loan deal to bring him back.

Accordingly, the Evening Standard note, the channels are open between the club.

As such, Chelsea could use this as an opportunity to make progress in their pursuit of Onana. They have already made their initial bids. The Evening Standard report that the Blues are preparing to launch another more serious offer.

Not Just Chelsea – Man United Also Want Inter Star Andre Onana

The Blues are not the only big Premier League club who are keen on Onana, however.

The Evening Standard report that Man United are also considering a move for the 27-year-old Cameroonian international.

At the moment, United’s interest in Onana has not moved along as far as Chelsea’s have.

However, the Evening Standard note, United have one crucial advantage over Chelsea in the race.

The Red Devils can offer Onana Champions League football next season, which Chelsea cannot.

The Champions League has been the competition where Onana has really shone this season.
