Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi admits that his side’s defeat in the Champions League final hurts more on the following day.
The 35-year-old enjoyed a solid outing at the back, limiting the danger of Man City striker Erling Haaland.
Yet, this proved to be insufficient for the Nerazzurri, especially after wasting glorious chances in front of goal.
Eventually, Rodri snatched the win for the Cityzens with an unstoppable drive in the 68th minute.
So while Inter players were devastated at the final whistle, Acerbi reveals that the defeat burns even more the next morning.
“Needless to say, it hurts even more the next day,” posted the veteran defender on his personal Instagram account.
“We fought and believed until the end while YOU were always with us. It’s only right to thank you because you made us feel as if we’re playing at home.”
