Former Inter Milan defender Antonio Paganin feels that it would be a significant mistake for the Nerazzurri to sell Andre Onana this summer.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInterNews, the former defender suggested that the Cameroonian should be a player who Inter hold on to at all costs.

Onana has been strongly linked with a potential sale this summer.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea are very keen to sign the 27-year-old. Reportedly, Onana is the Blues’ top target as they aim to sign a new first-choice keeper for next season.

Furthermore, Inter are reportedly ready to hold out for a very large fee if they are to sell Onana.

It is not hard to see why Chelsea would be keen to sign the former Ajax star.

Even just one season after arriving at Inter on a free transfer, Onana has been one of the Nerazzurri’s standout performers. Particularly in the Champions League, the Cameroonian has shone.

However, on the other side of things, it is just as easy to see why Onana is a player who Inter will be desperate to keep.

Paganin: Inter Milan Shouldn’t Consider Selling Andre Onana

“I think that the Champions League will allow Inter to settle their accounts a bit,” Paganin argued.

“I don’t think they’ll change goalkeeper in the summer,” Paganin said. “Doing so would be a big mistake.”

“We should dip into the market in defense,” he continued. “And then we’ll see what the decision is with Lukaku.”

The former defender also went on to argue that the Nerazzurri should take the summer as an opportunity to “rejuvenate” their squad.

“At the back, there are a lot of players over thirty,” he noted. “There will have to be some sacrifices made, and things changed around.”

“Brozovic could be expendable in midfield,” Paganin predicted. “We also need to see what happens with Gosens.”

“Up front, we’ll go again with Lautaro.”
