Inter Milan are ready to make contract extensions for defender Alessandro Bastoni and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu official soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Now that Inter have finished up their season with the disappointment of losing the Champions League final against Manchester City in Istanbul, the club will immediately turn their attention to other matters.

Chief among these will be the extension of the contracts of a couple key players within the squad.

Pen has not yet been put to paper for either Bastoni’s or Calhanoglu’s new deals. However, the Gazzetta report, everything is ready to go.

Inter are ready to make both official.

Inter Milan To Extend Bastoni & Calhanoglu Contracts Soon

First, there is defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The 24-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of next June. However, Inter have prioritized agreeing an extension before next season starts.

The Nerazzurri have learned from bitter experience what can happen if they don’t lock a player down on a new deal and let him go into the final year of his contract via their handling of the Milan Skriniar situation.

The Slovakian rejected a contract extension offer and will join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

It has even been reported that, if Bastoni doesn’t pen a new deal, he could be sold in the summer. The Italy international is also a target for Manchester City, PSG, and Juventus.

However, the Gazzetta reports, everything is in place for a new deal for Bastoni. They should finish up the last details after Istanbul. He is set to extend his contract until the end of June 2028.

Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu‘s current deal runs until the end of next June like that of Bastoni. However, Inter also want to act fast to extend his future.

The Gazzetta report that the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen fan should pen a new deal until the end of June 2027. Everything is in place for that to happen in the coming days or weeks.
